Founder, Optimized Procurement

Industrial Management Engineer. Trained in the procurement departments of Airbus and Toyota, two of the most demanding supply chain environments in the world. 11 years working across aerospace, construction materials, industrial components, and automotive manufacturing.

Founded in Brussels by Guillermo Tomás Maicas, Optimized Procurement was built after seeing the same pattern across industries: manufacturing businesses spending millions with suppliers, no structured category strategy, and margin eroding quietly quarter after quarter. The problem was never the team. It was the absence of process.

Something that's easy to overlook: in many manufacturing businesses, especially those with tight sales margins, more EBITDA is unlocked through better procurement than through additional sales. Yet most SMBs have no structured procurement function to capture it.

That's the gap Optimized Procurement was built to close.

How We Work

Principles we don't compromise on

The way we work

  • Decisions are based on facts and data, not gut feel, not politics.
  • It's not about negotiating harder. It's about implementing structure suppliers can perform against.
  • You can't improve a process without a standard. We define your standard first.
  • Suppliers not challenged get comfortable. We keep them sharp.
  • We provide feedback to suppliers who quote. It builds long-term leverage.

What we are not

  • Not a freelancer with no methodology. The Optimized Procurement Framework is a structured, repeatable system.
  • Not a negotiation-only service. Squeezing suppliers without structure creates short-term savings and long-term risk.
  • Not a report factory. Every engagement ends with a P&L-ready output, not a presentation with good intentions.

Why SMBs

Why manufacturing SMBs?

Large companies have entire procurement departments. SMBs have the same complexity and often the same supplier spend proportionally, with none of the infrastructure.

A €30M manufacturer with €6M in annual supplier spend and no category strategy has the same savings opportunity as a €300M corporation. The difference is that nobody at the €30M business is looking for it. We are.

Most procurement consultancies chase enterprise contracts. We focus exclusively on manufacturing SMBs because that's where structured procurement creates the most disproportionate impact, and where it's most often missing.
